We are very pleased to announce that our 2019 Annual Lecture:
“Maria Edgeworth and the late Scottish Enlightenment: correspondence and community”
will be given by Dr. Jane Rendall, University of York.
The lecture will take place at the National Library of Ireland at 6pm on Wednesday 16 January 2019.
Jane Rendall is an Honorary Fellow in the History Department and the Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies at the University of York. She is interested in the Scottish Enlightenment and in women’s and gender history in Britain in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. She has published extensively on eighteenth-and nineteenth-century feminism and many articles on gender, women and the Scottish Enlightenment. Most recently, she was one of the four editors of the New Biographical Dictionary of Scottish Women (Edinburgh University Press, 2018).
